Case Study: Elevating Wine Display with Precision Linear Lighting
Project: Custom LED Integration for Luxury Wine Cabinets
Client: Napa Valley Reserve Private Cellar (St. Helena, California)
Objective: Enhance wine bottle aesthetics while preserving vintages using zero-compromise LED illumination.
The Challenge
The client’s temperature-controlled wine cellar featured 12 custom-built mahogany cabinets displaying rare vintages. Existing fluorescent tube lighting caused:
·Color Distortion: Poor CRI (70) made labels appear faded and altered wine hues.
·Heat Risks: Traditional lights raised cabinet temperatures by 4°F, threatening storage integrity.
·Glare & Shadows: Uneven illumination created hotspots and obscured labels.
The solution required museum-grade lighting with UV/IR-free output and seamless integration.
The Solution: Spectrally Optimized Linear LEDs
We deployed SYP solderless profile lights with winery-specific engineering:
1.Pure Color Rendition
·High-Fidelity LEDs: CRI 98 + R9 >95 for true-to-life label colors (critical for aged reds).
·4000K Neutral White: Optimal balance between vibrancy and ambiance.
2.Preservation-Focused Design
·Zero UV/IR Emission: Eliminated heat transfer (cabinet ΔT: <0.5°F).
·Frosted Silicone Diffusers: Glare-free, shadowless uniformity across bottle curves.
3.Invisible Integration
·Slim Aluminum Profiles (8mm height) recessed into cabinet ceilings.
·Daisy-Chain Wiring: Single driver per cabinet reduced clutter.
